This project involved the design and development of a custom website for acclaimed author Susan Thayer Kelley, creating a digital home that highlights her published works and connects readers to her voice and stories. The site’s core purpose is to provide a clear, engaging experience where visitors can explore Susan’s books, learn more about her creative journey, and easily access purchase and contact options.

The inspiration for this build came from the author’s diverse catalogue — including titles such as Family Survival, The Necklace: The Black Prince’s Necklace, Coming Home, and The Letter — and the desire to present these works in a way that feels both timeless and accessible. By structuring the site around intuitive navigation and visually supporting the book covers and category sections, I aimed to balance literary richness with modern usability.

Throughout the project, I focused on clarity, responsiveness, and content prioritization. This included optimizing the layout to showcase key books front and center, grouping content by theme (e.g., “Author,” “Family Survival,” “The Letter”), and ensuring ancillary pages like “Order” and “Contact” were accessible but unobtrusive. Attention to detail in typography, spacing, and imagery helped to reflect the author’s voice while making the browsing experience effortless on both desktop and mobile devices.
