Nancy L. Harris Books – Author Platform & Online Bookstore

This portfolio piece highlights the bespoke design and development of Nancy L. Harris Books, a dynamic author platform and online storefront created to showcase Nancy Lynne Harris’s written works and engage her readership with an inviting, trustworthy online presence. The core objective of this project was to design a site that blends an elegant literary aesthetic with practical e-commerce functionality, giving visitors a seamless experience browsing titles, reading reviews, and exploring the author’s story.

The inspiration for this site came from a desire to balance literary sophistication with clarity of purpose. Nancy’s work spans topics of healing, self-discovery, and transformation, and the digital design needed to communicate both her voice and the value of her books—from immersive titles addressing personal wellness to engaging reader testimonials. To achieve this, I emphasized clean typography, well-structured product layouts, and intuitive navigation that directs users effortlessly from homepage to purchase.

In building this platform, I focused on responsive design principles to ensure an optimal experience across devices, thoughtful use of color and spacing to maintain a professional yet warm tone, and integrated e-commerce elements allowing visitors to view, select, and navigate toward purchasing options. Attention to detail in visual hierarchy and content presentation ensured both book discovery and author credibility are front and center. The resulting site not only reflects the author’s personal brand but also provides a polished and engaging online experience suitable for readers, literary communities, and new audiences alike.
